Trauma
Some people's brains vividly remember past traumas, refusing to let them follow their hearts throughout their lives. This is a defense mechanism to prevent the same pain from happening again. Consequently, their hearts' deepest desires remain unfulfilled until the day they die. All of this is the profound consequence of past trauma.
