Time Bubble
"Time Bubble" is a surreal impressionistic piece that explores the inevitable passage of time, mortality and the fragility of beauty. It portrays a serene view into a forest where at the center a fair maiden lays on the grass staring straight at the viewer. The clocks in this painting represents the intangible fleeting of time. The bubbles in this piece symbolizes the fragility of one's life and the ephemerality of beauty. The bubbles warp the reality of the environment through the passage of time, it gives glimpses into a distant future and symbolizes how nothing stays the same forever. Through the view of the bubbles, the maidens hand can be seen distorted to a process of decaying, her hair grey and aging, the branches of the trees absent of leaves, some views stay the same while others show a distant future. By juxtaposing the tranquility of the present with visions of an aging and decaying future, "Time Bubble" reflects on the transient nature of existence. The painting invites viewers to confront the inevitability of change and mortality, while appreciating the beauty of the present moment before it, too, becomes a memory.

Alex Phyo
Hi, I'm Alex Phyo (born 2007), an up and coming visual artist based in Yangon. I'm a self-trained multidisciplinary artist, honing my craft since childhood. I started pursuing my creative aspirations in 2025 since then I've participated in and organised group exhibitions and events. My work mainly centers around my identity, feelings and experiences, as a person who's just entering adulthood, my art reflects that, with emotionally layered and complex concepts paired with traces of a whimsical childlike realm. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Claude Monet, Salvador Dali and Hayao Miyazaki, my art exists in a surreal vibrant dreamscape.
