Tun Unt
202648 x 36 inpainting

Created on the first day of ARTICO RESIDENCY 2026, By the Ayeyarwady draws from life around Bupaya in Bagan. Against the familiar form of Bupaya, Tun Unt depicts local boatmen whose everyday lives are closely connected to the Ayeyarwady River, carrying passengers across the water and taking visitors along the river. The work looks beyond Bagan’s historic monuments to the people who continue to live and work around them, reflecting the enduring relationship between people, place, and the river.
