Pick My Brain

"Pick My Brain" is a commentary on the current zeitgeist that is "Ai", while artificial intelligence is beneficial in the fields of science and technology, in the hands of the general masses there comes negative effects. This painting comments on how being overly dependent on ai is causing some people to loose their ability to think for themselves. In the painting a hypnotised head of a boy is in a daze as a robot picks on his brain and pumps green liquid in. This is a visualisation of how the dependency on artificial intelligence dangers a person's critical thinking , rotting their brain in the process. The concept feels dystopian and surreal but is becoming a reality for some.

Alex Phyo

Hi, I'm Alex Phyo (born 2007), an up and coming visual artist based in Yangon. I'm a self-trained multidisciplinary artist, honing my craft since childhood. I started pursuing my creative aspirations in 2025 since then I've participated in and organised group exhibitions and events. My work mainly centers around my identity, feelings and experiences, as a person who's just entering adulthood, my art reflects that, with emotionally layered and complex concepts paired with traces of a whimsical childlike realm. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Claude Monet, Salvador Dali and Hayao Miyazaki, my art exists in a surreal vibrant dreamscape.
